The social determinants of health are the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life. The Social Determinants of Health Unit’s aim is to support, guide and strengthen the intersectoral capacity across government and society in order to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate initiatives to promote health equity through addressing the Social Determinants of health.
