Merit Award Scheme - The Department

The Merit Award Scheme is intended to reward specialists for professional initiatives within their clinical practice which lead to improvement in professional standards, improved patient care and outcome and provide a quality assurance mechanism within the National Health System. The Committee issues calls for proposals each February for initiatives to be undertaken in that subsequent year. The calls occur in various categories – publication, audit, guideline development, quality improvement, study and continuing professional development.
