Structure

The Strategy Development and Implementation Unit is responsible for developing strategies that address the objectives of individual Directorates, Commissions and Committees falling within the remit of the Department for Health Regulation. It also promotes the overall goals of the Ministry and supports their implementation. The Social Determinants of Health Unit aims to support, guide and strengthen the intersectoral capacity across government and society in order to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate initiatives to promote health equity by addressing the social determinants of health. The Pharmaceutical Unit is responsible for the processing of requests for the use of unlicensed medicinal products, and all regulatory issues on the importation, exportation and use of narcotic and psychotropic drugs, and the Public Health Dental Unit works on the prevention and control of dental diseases through initiatives of advocacy, education, research and the development of standards.
